Pangulo ng Colombia at Papua New Guinea Prime Minister nasa bansa na para sa APEC

Magkasunod na dumating sa bansa kanina sina Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos at Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O’Neil na parehong dadalo sa APEC leaders’ meeting sa November 18 hanggang 19.

Naging makasaysayan ang paglapag sa NAIA Terminal 1  4:13 ng hapon ng Lunes ng eroplanong sinasakyan ni Colombian President Santos dahil ito ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon na isang Pangulo mula sa nasabing bansa ang nagpunta sa Pilipinas.

Si Santos ay sinalubong nina Budget Sec. Butch Abad, Asec. Jesus Domingo, Columbian Ambassador to the Philippines Tito Saul Penilla at Binibining Pilipinas Chartities Inc. Head Stella Marquez Araneta na isa ring Colombian.

Bagama’t hindi pa kasapi ng APEC, si Santos ay inimbitahan mismo ni Pangulong Noynoy Aquino bilang observer sa gaganaping leaders’ meeting.

Ilang minuto makaraang dumating si Santos, lumapag naman sa Villamor Airbase ang eroplanong sinasakyan ni Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O’Neil.

Ang nasabing lider ay sinalubong nina Philippine Ambassador to Papua New Guinea Bienvenido Tejano, Education Sec. Armin Luistro at MIAA General Manager Jose Hondrado.

Sa kasalukuyan ay apat na mga enonomic leaders na ang nasa bansa para sa APEC Summit.

Nauna nang dumating sa bansa sina Chilean President Michelle Bachelet at Former Taiwan Vice-President Vincent Siew.
