Malacañang: Bangsamoro law hindi apektado sa martial law extension

Walang nakikitang rason ang Malacañang para maging hadlang ang pinalawig na martial law sa Mindanao region upang magkaroon ng plebisito para sa Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, wala namang ugnayan ang martial law sa nasabing batas.

Sakali aniyang magkaroon ng plebisito para sa BOL, tiyak na matatakot ang mga taga Mindanao na gumawa ng kaguluhan dahil sa may umiiral na batas militar.

Katunayan, sinabi ni Panelo na malaki pa ang maitutulong ng martial law para mapadali ang plebisito.

“I do not see any relation. What’s the relation? In fact, martial law is even acceptable to the people of Mindanao, precisely because the security is kept. If there will be a plebiscite, then people who would want to do something to derail the plebiscite will think twice because there is martial law. It’s even helpful”, ayon sa kalihim.
