Paggunita sa International Human Rights Day, sasabayan ng kilos-protesta bukas (Dec. 10)

Sasabayan ng mga kilos-protesta ang paggunita ng International Human Rights Day bukas, December 10, 2018.

Nakatakdang sunugin ang ilang effigy ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para magparating ng pagtutol sa war on drugs at iba pang polisiya ng kasalukuyang administrasyon.

Binanggit ni Solidarity of Filipino Workers chairman Leody de Guzman ang patuloy na patayan sa war on drugs sa loob ng dalawang taong panunungkulan ni Duterte.

Base kais sa datos ng Philippine National Police (PNP), umabot na sa 4,999 na katao ang napatay sa ilalim ng war on drugs mula 2016 hanggang October 2018.

Ayon kay De Guzman, mas mataas pa dapat ang naturang bilang kasama ang ilang rights defenders na nagiging biktima na rin aniya ng patayan.

Dahil dito, hinikayat ni De Guzman ang pamahalaan na i-review ang commitment sa Konstitusyon at Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Dagdag pa nito, dapat itawid ang justice system para maging patas sa lahat at hindi lang mayayaman at may kapangyarihan ang makakamit ng hustisya.
