54 arestado dahil sa ilegal na pangingsda sa Masbate
Arestado ng mga tauhan ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang 54 na katao dahil sa ilegal na pangingisda sa karagatang sakop ng Masbate.
Isinagawa ang operasyon ng mga tauhan ng Quick Response Team (QRT) ng Coast Guard at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
Ayon sa coast guard, nagsasagawa sila ng maritime patrol nang makita ang tatlong fishing boats na nangingisda sa Guinauyan Island.
Agad isinailalim sa inspeksyon ang mga bangka na kinabibilangan ng RS-2, FB JS-1 at FB Jaurice.
Inaresto ang mga mangingisdang sakay ng tatlong bangka dahil sa paglabag sa Republic Act 10654 o “The Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998”.
Sinabi ng coast guard na nilabag ng grupo ang probinsyon hinggil sa Unauthorized Fishing, Use of Active Gear in Municipal Waters, Employing Unlicensed Fisher Work/Crew, Use of Unlicensed Gear, at iba pa.
