Walang balak si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na kausapin sina National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) chief negotiator Fidel Agcaoili at senior adviser Luis Jnagbabalak na umuwi ng bansa para magkaroon ng informal talks sa posibilidad ng pagbubukas muli ng peace talks.
Sa talumpati ng pangulo sa inagurasyon sa Cavite Gateway Terminal sa Tanza, Cavite, sinabi nito na sina Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza at government chief negotiator Silvestre Bello III na lamang ang dapat na kausapin nina Jalandoni at Agcaoili.
Sinabi pa ng pangulo na magkakaintindihan sina Agcaoali, Jalandoni, at Bello dahil komunista naman ang negosyador ng gobyerno.
Dagdag ng pangulo, tanging kay Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founding chairman Jose Maria Sison na lamang siya makikipag-usap kapag nabuo na ang draft ng peace talks.
Kapag mayroon na aniyang final draft, ipapasa niya ito sa pulis at militar. Kapag inaprubahan ay lalarga na aniya ang peace talks.
