Korean language hindi ipapalit sa Filipino – DepEd

Nagbigay linaw ang Department of Education na hindi papalitan ng Korean language classes ang Filipino subject sa basic education curriculum (BEC).

Ayon sa opisyal na pahayag ng kagawaran, isa lamang elective ang Korean language class at hindi bahagi ng core subjects ng BEC.

Ituturo lamang umano ito sa 700 mag-aaral sa 10 piling junior high schools (JHS) sa National Capital Region.

Iginiit din ng DepEd na bukod sa Korean language class, mayroon pang limang Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) classes ang kasalukuyang ipinatutupad sa mga pampublikong paaralan.

Ito ay ang Spanish, French, German, Chinese at Japanese classes.

Matatandaang umani ng batikos ang aksyong ito ng DepEd matapos ideklara ng Korte Suprema na ‘constitutional’ ang pagtatanggal sa Filipino at Panitikan bilang bahagi ng core college courses.

Samantala, sinabi rin ng kagawaran na ang mga estudyanteng nahasa lamang sa Filipino at English ang qualified na kumuha ng Korean language elective class.
