Pilipinas at Papua New Guinea, lumagda sa isang kasunduan para sa agricultural cooperation
Nilagdaan ng Pilipinas at Papua New Guinea ang memorandum of agreement (MOA) ukol sa agricultural cooperation.
Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, parehong isusulong ng Pilipinas at Papua New Guinea ang konsultasyon, technical assistance at joint research kaugnay ng sektor ng agrikultura.
Ang MOA ay pinirmahan nina Agriculture Sec. Manny Piñol at Papua New Guinea Agriculture and Livestock Minister Benny Allan.
Ilan sa sakop ng kasunduan ang kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa sa produksyon ng bigas, niyog, kape at iba pang produkto gayundin sa fish farming at livestock breeding.
Binisita ni Piñol at ilang opisyal ng bansa ang Philippines-Papua New Guinea Rice Demonstration Farm sa labas ng Port Moresby.
Noong Agosto ay nagpadala ang Pilipinas ng 19 Filipino farm technicians para sa naturang farm.
