Organizer ng Miss Earth walang record sa database ng NPC
Naniniwala ang National Privacy Commission (NPC) na walang kakayahan ang organizer ng Miss Earth pageant na pangalagaan ang personal na impormasyon ng mga kalahok sa patimpalak.
Ayon kay NPC Commissioner Raymund Liboro, wala sa kanilang database ang Carousel Productions, Inc. na siyang naging punong-abala sa katatapos na Miss Earth pageant sa bansa.
Sinabi ni Liboro na alinsunod sa batas, bawat organisasyon ay dapat mayroong Data Protection Officer (DPO) para matiyak na lahat ng personal na impormasyon ay mananatiling pribado at hindi magamit sa maling paraan.
Wala aniyang detalye ng data processing system ang Carousel Production, Inc. na isang malinaw na paglabag sa Data Privacy Act.
“The NPC’s database shows no record of the organizer, its Data Protection Officer (DPO), nor details of its data processing system. This signifies potential non-compliance with the Data Privacy Act and implies possible negligence in adhering to data protection standards set by the commission,” ani Liboro.
Matatandang hindi tinapos ni Miss Canada ang beauty pageant dahil hina-harass umano siya at sinusundan ng isa sa mga sponsor ng Miss Earth para mai-date.
