Ratipikason ng expanded maternity leave law pinarerekonsidera sa Senado
Inirekunsidera ng Senado ang ratipikasyon ng bicameral conference committee’s report sa 105-day expanded maternity leave law.
Sa sesyon sa Senado, isinulong ni Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri ang pagrekunsidera sa adoption at ratification ng naturang batas para makapag-reconvene ang bicam panel ng Senado at Kamara at maplantsa ang mga amyenda.
Oras na maging batas, ang may trabahong buntis na ina ay mayroong hanggang 105 araw na paid leave, 7 araw ay dagdag sa paternity leave ng kanyang asawa at bukod pa ang dagdag na 15 araw para sa solo mother.
Ayon kay Zubiri, nagkaroon ng reconsideration ng batas dahil may isiningit na probisyon sa bicam meeting na nagdagdag ng appropriations at tax exemptions.
Una nang hiniling ni Senadora Risa Hontiveros, chairperson ng Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality ang pagpapaliban ng routing at transmittal ng enrolled copy ng panukalang batas.
