Voter Registration Verification System gagamitin ng Comelec sa 2019 elections

Gagamitin na ng Commission on Elections ang Voter Registration Verification System (VRVS) para sa 2019 midterm elections.

Ayon kay Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez, magpapakalat ng 32,067 na VRVS units ang Comelec sa mga tutukuying pilot areas sa botohan sa May 2019.

Sa araw ng botohan, kung mayroong VRVS sa polling precinct, ang mga botante ay hindi na kailangang magpakita ng kanilang ID sa election officer.

Kailangan na lamang nilang ipa-scan and kanilang fingerprint sa VRVS para matukoy ang kanilang pagkakakilanlan.

Matutukoy ng VRVS kung ang botante ay rehistrado o hindi.

Sinabi ni Jimenez na makatutulong ang sistemang ito laban sa mga flying voter.

Naglaan ng P1.16 billion na pondo ang gobyerno para sa VRVS.
