Rene Garcia ng bandang ‘Hotdog’, pumanaw na

Pumanaw na sa edad na 65 ang miyembro at lead guitarist ng iconic OPM band na ‘Hotdog’ na si Rene Garcia.

Ito ang kinumpirma mismo ng kapatid ni Rene na si Dennis Garcia at sinabing nasawi ito dahil sa cardiac arrest Linggo ng gabi.

Sina Dennis at Rene ang bumuo sa Hotdog noong 1970s kasama ang solo female lead singer na si Ella del Rosario.

Pinangunahan ng grupo ang ‘Manila Sound’ phenomenon at pinasikat ang mga kantang ‘Bongga Ka Day’, ‘Beh, Buti Nga’, ‘Pers Lab’, ‘Manila’, ‘Panaginip’ at ‘Annie Batungbakal’.

Nagtanghal pa ang grupo sa Miss Universe Pageant sa Folk Arts Theater kung saan inawit nina Rene at Ella ang ‘Ikaw Ang Miss Universe ng Buhay Ko’.
