Special voters registration isasagawa sa Mandaluyong women’s jail ngayong araw

Magsasagawa ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) ng isang special satellite registration para sa mga botanteng detainees sa Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) sa Mandaluyong City ngayong araw.

Tatakbo ang special offsite registration mula alas-8 ng umaga hanggang alas-5 ng hapon mamaya.

Ayon kay Comelec Commissioner Ma. Rowena Guanzon, nais ng poll body na mahikayat ang mas maraming kababaihan na magparehistro at ma-exercise ang kanilang karapatang makaboto.

Si Guanzon ang Commissioner-in-Charge ng Committee on Detainee Voting ng Comelec at pinuno rin ng Gender and Development – Focal Point System (GAD-FPS) executive committee.

“Efforts to register more women voters is part of the Commission’s aim to be more inclusive, which we try to achieve by reaching out to and giving preference to members of vulnerable sectors,” ayon kay Guanzon.

Matatandang binuksan nang muli ang voters registration simula noong July 2 at tatagal hanggang September 29.
