6 katao kinasuhan ng BOC dahil sa smuggled na sibuyas at sigarilyo

Kinasuhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa Department of Justice (DOJ) ang anim na katao na umanoy sangkot sa pagpuslit ng P11.1 million na halaga ng mga sibuyas at P26.6 million na halaga ng mga sigarilyo.

Nadiskubre sa inspeksyon ng mga container sa Manila International Container Port ang mga sibuyas imbes na ang idineklarang mga mansanas.

Dahil dito ay sinampahan ng kasong misdeclaration of goods at unlawful importations ang 3 proprietors at 1 customs broker.

Inakusahan sina Joseph Martin Arriesgado, sole proprietor ng EAJM Enterprised; Marilou Hernandez, sole proprietor ng Buensuceso Enterprise at ang licensed broker na si Lorenz Mangaliman at Arvin Tagudi, sole proprietor ng Epitome International Trading nga paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

Samantala, kinasuhan din ng BOC sina Mark David Villanueva, may-ari ng Marid Industrial Marketing at licensed customs broker na si Carmen Anna Rollon ng illegal importation of cigarettes na idineklarang industrial fur texture.

Nagbanta si Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña na marami pa ang makakasuhang tao na dawit sa smuggling ng produktong agrikultura at iba pang commodities.
