Huling linggo ng Mayo, idineklarang ‘National Data Privacy Awareness Week’
Nilagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang isang proklamasyon na nagdedeklara sa huling linggo ng Mayo bilang ‘National Data Privacy Awareness Week’.
Ito ay upang mapag-ibayo ang pagpapahalaga sa data privacy at data protection upang mapagtibay pa ang mga programang isinasagawa ng National Privacy Commission o NPC.
Ang Presidential Proclamation 527 ay nilagdaan mismo ng pangulo sa araw na hindi ma-access o mabuksan ang mahigit 100 government websites dahil sa system failure.
Ayon sa proklamasyon, kinikilala ng estado ang kahalagahan ng information and communications technology sa pagtataguyod ng bansa at sisiguruhin nitong mapoprotektahan ang ‘right to privacy’ ng bawat indibidwal.
“The State recognizes the vital role of information and communications technology in nation-building and its inherent obligation to ensure that personal information in information and communications systems in the government and in the private sector are secure and protected,” ayon sa proklamasyon.
Samantala, batay din sa kautusan ay pangungunahan ng NPC ang pagdiriwang ng lahat ng kagawaran at ahensya ng gobyerno para sa National Data Privacy Awareness Week.
