Pangulong Duterte hindi titigil sa pagbanat sa Simbahan ayon sa Malacañan
Tiniyak ng Palasyo ng Malacañan na hindi titigil si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pagbanat sa Simbahang Katolika hangga’t hindi tumitigil ang mga obispo sa pagpuna sa punong ehekutibo.
Paliwanag ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, hindi naman ‘sitting duck’ ang pangulo.
Sinabi pa ni Roque na hindi martir at may damdamin din ang pangulo na nasasaktan.
Ayon kay Roque, hanggat may nabasasa o nakikitang balita ang pangulo na binabatikos siya ng mga kagawad ng Simbahang Katolika ay tiyak na bubuwelta pa rin ito.
“No, not at all. They can talk, but the President will also talk back. Do not expect the President to be a sitting down, hindi naman magpapaka-martir iyong ating Presidente, sige wakwakan ninyo ako ng wakwakan but I will not respond back ‘no,” ani Roque.
Umapela rin si Roque sa mga kagawad ng Simbahang Katolika na magkaroon ng ceasefire.
“So I think it’s not just the President who should be told that as we hold this dialogue, that perhaps there should be a ceasefire; it should also be told to some leading Church leaders as well,” dagdag pa ng tagapagsalita.
Una rito, sinabi ng pangulo na titigil na siya sa pagbanat sa mga kagawad ng Simbahang Katolika lalo na’t may nakatakda silang pagpupulong ni Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President Archbishop Romulo Valles sa Malacañan sa Lunes, July 9.
