Aguirre kinasuhan ng libel si Mon Tulfo at Philippine Daily Inquirer

Sinampahan ni dating Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre III ng kasong libelo ang kolumnistang si Ramon Tulfo at iba pang opisyal ng Philippine Daily Inquirer.

12 kaso ng cyber libel o paglabag sa Republic Act 10175 at 10 kaso ng libelo o paglabag sa Revised Penal Code ang isinampa kay Tulfo sa Manila Prosecutors Office.

Kaugnay ito ng mga paninira umano ng kolumnista kay Aguirre sa mga artikulo nito na lumabas sa Philippine Daily Inquirer, Inquirer.net, at Bandera.

Sa mga nasabing artikulo, tinawag ni Tulfo si Aguirre na valedictorian ng kapalpakan at itinuro na kumupit P1,000 mula sa P50 milyong ginamit umano ng negosyanteng si Jack Lam para suhulan sina dating Bureau of Immigration (BI) Deputy Commissioner Al Argosino at Michael Robles.

Nanindigan si Aguirre na walang basehan ang mga bintang ni Tulfo na ang tanging layunin ay sirain ang kanyang reputasyon.

Samantala, damay din sa mga kaso sina PDI President at CEO Alexandra Prieto Romualdez, Inquirer Publications Chief Renato Reynoso, at PDI Executive Editor Jose Maria Nolasco.
