Ayon kay Gumaca police chief Senior Inspector San Juan Felmar Aquino, isisilbi ng mga otoridad ang arrest warrant laban kay Alberto Lee sa Barangay Progreso pero hindi ito sumuko.
Pinagbabaril ang mga otoridad gamit ang kalibre .45 na baril kaya gumanti ng putok ang mga pulis.
Dito na napatay si Lee.
Ayon sa pulisya, nakatakas ang isa pang drug suspect sa gitna ng shootout.
Wanted si Lee dahil sa pagtutulak ng droga sa Lucena City at nagtago sa Gumaca.
