Inflation rate muling tumaas sa nagdaang buwan ng Mayo

Muling tumaas ang inflation rate o ang pagtaas ng halaga ng mga pangunahing bilihin sa bansa.

Ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), naitala sa 4.6 percent ang inflation rate para sa buwan ng Mayo taong 2018.

Ito na ang maitituring na 5-year high o pinakamataas na inflation rate sa nakalipas na limang taon.

Gayunman, sinabi ni National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon mas mababa pa ito kaysa sa naunang naging pagtaya ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Ang mataas na halaga ng isda, iba pang seafoods, langis, tinapay, bigas at cereals ang pangunahing ugat ng mataas na inflation.

Sinabi naman ni Budget Sec. Benjamin Diokno na patuloy ang ginagawang pagbabantay ng Department of trade and Industry (DTI) sa mga pamilihan upang matiyak na nasusunod ang suggested retail prices (SRPs).
