Planong pag-review ng Senado sa pagkakatanggal kay Sereno, nirerespeto ng Malacañan
Iginagalang ng Palasyo ng Malacañan ang inihaing resolusyon sa Senado na i-review ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema na nagpatalsik kay dating Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno sa pamamagitan ng quo warranto petition na inihain ng Office of the Solicitor General.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, malaya ang mga senador na lumagda sa resolusyon.
“The senators are free to sign such a resolution. The resolution of course forms part of their inherent legislative powers,” ani Roque.
Sa ngayon, 14 sa 23 senador na ang pumirma sa resolusyon.
Sinabi pa ni Roque na mayroong legislative power ang mga senador na busisiin ang naging desisyon ng Kataastaasang Hukuman.
