WATCH: CJ on leave Maria Lourdes Sereno, hiniling na magbitiw na sa pwesto
Maagang nagsagawa ng kilos protesta sa Korte Suprema ang dalawang grupo na nananawagan ng pagbibitiw sa pwesto ni Chief Justice on leave Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Nagtipun-tipon sa harap ng compound ng Korte Suprema sa Padre Faura Street sa Maynila ang mga miyembro ng Citizens’ Crime Watch (CCW) at isang urban poor group na “Sereno Resign and Oust”.
Sa isinagawang flag ceremony Lunes ng umaga, ang ilan sa mga empleyado ng Supreme Court ay nagsuot ng kulay pulang damit.
Ayon kay Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, chairman ng CCW legal committee, bahagi ng proseso ang kanilang panawagang magbitiw si Sereno sa pwesto dahil siya ay hindi kwalipikado sa posisyon.
Mas makabubuti rin sa reputasyon at karangalan ni Sereno kung magbibitiw na lamang siya kaysa ang mapatalsik sa pwesto.
