Incumbent barangay officials, hindi mananatili sa pwesto sakaling magkaroon ng failure of election
Sakaling ideklara ang failure of election sa ilang mga lugar ay hindi mananatili ang incumbent officials sa kanilang mga pwesto.
Ito ang sinabi ni Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon at sinabing ito ay base sa desisyon ng Comelec en banc.
Nagbabala ang commissioner sa mga nakaupong opisyal sa posibilidad ng pananabotahe ng mga ito para lamang mapalawig ang kanilang termino.
Ayon kay Guanzon, irerequest ng poll body sa pangulo o sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) na magtalaga ng bagong mga acting officials sa mga apektadong barangay.
“If there is failure of elections because of violence, hindi mag hold over or extended term ang incumbent o nakaupo na mga brgy officials. Special elections will be held,” ani Guanzon sa kanyang post sa Twitter.
Isasagawa ang special elections sa mga lugar na may failure of elections.
