Sr. Patricia Fox hindi inaresto ayon sa Malakanyang

Nilinaw ng Malakanyang na hindi pag-aresto ang ginawa ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Australian Missionary na si Sister Patricia Fox kundi pagtupad lang sa order para imbestigahan ang madre kung nararapat na i-deport o hindi.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, nakatanggap kasi ng impormasyon ang BI sa pamamagitan ng Commission on Immigration and Deportation na lumahok si Sr. Fox sa mga political rally na mahigpit na ipinagbabawal sa batas ng Pilipinas para sa mga dayuhan.

Sinabi pa ni Roque na iimbestigahan pa ng BI kung idedeport o hindi si Sr. Fox.

Inihalimbawa pa ni Roque ang ilang kaso na napagdesisyunan na ng Supreme Court kung saan hindi na dumadaan sa normal right ang mga akusado sa criminal proceedings dahil ito ay para sa preparatory to deportation lamang.

“Now this is not an arrest, this is an order, an investigation whether not to deport Sister Patricia Fox. And we have decided cases already by the Supreme Court that this arrest are not governed by normal right of an accused in a criminal proceedings because this is for purposes and preparatory to deportation,” ayon kay Roque.

Matatandaang pinalaya na kahapon ng BI si Sr. Fox pero tuloy pa rin ang imbestigasyon ukol sa pananatili ng dayuhang missionary.
