State of Emergency sa Maldives, nais palawigin ng 30-araw

Humihirit si Maldives President Abdulla Yameen sa parliamentary na palawigin pa ng 30 araw ang ipinaiiral na state of emergency sa kanilang bansa dahil hindi pa rin aniya nagbabago ang kanilang sitwasyon.

Matatandaang nagdeklara ng 15 araw na state of emergency si Yameen noong February 5 na matatapos na ngayong araw.

Ayon kay Deputy Parliamentary Secretary General Fathmath Niusha, humiling si Yameen sa lehislatura na bumoto pabor para sa pagpapalawig ng state of emergency.

Sa ilalim ng state of emergency, ipinaaresto ng administrasyon ni Yameen ang chief justice, isa pang hukom ng Supreme Court at si dating president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

Samantala, naglabas na ng travel warnings ang United States, Britain, China at India sa Yameen dahil sa sitwasyon.
