DOJ prosecutor na humawak sa P6.4B shabu shipment, na-promote

Itinaas sa posisyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor na siyang humawak sa mga kasong kriminal na nakasampa laban sa mga nasa likod ng pagpupuslit ng P6.4 bilyong shabu shipment mula China.

Sa isang transmittal letter ni Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea para kay Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno ay nakasaad na iniluklok ni Pangulong Duterte si DOJ Assistant Prosecutor Aristotle Reyes bilang bagong judge sa Lucena, Quezon Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 15.

Si Reyes ang nanguna sa DOJ investigating panel na nagsampa ng kaso laban kina Customs fixer Mark Taguba, Richard Tan, Manny Li, Kenneth Dong, Eirene Mae Tatad, Teejay Marcellana, Chen I-Min, Jhu Ming Jhun, and Chen Rong Huan dahil sa paglabag sa Republic Act 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 sa Manila at Valenzuela RTC.

Samantala, sa ngayon ay nakapiit sina Taguba at Tatad sa himpilan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa Maynila. Inaasahang ililipat na sa Manila City Jail si Taguba matapos ibasura ni RTC Branch 46 Judge Rainelda Estacio-Montesa ang mosyon nito na manatili sa ilalim ng kostodiya ng NBI.
