Gas stations at oil depots, babantayan ng DOE para sa pagpapatupad ng excise tax
Mahigpit na binabantayan ngayong ng Department of Energy (DOE) ang mga gas stations at oil depot para sa tamang pagpapatupad ng excise tax sa presyo ng produktong petrolyo.
Nag-deploy ng inspectors ang Oil Industry Management Bureau ng DOE sa iba’t ibang mga gasolinahan at depot upang tiyakin kung ipinatutupad ang excise tax sa ilalim ng Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act para sa mga imbentaryo na lagpas sa December 31, 2017.
Ayon sa Department of Energy, hindi pa maaring patawan ng buwis ang mga ‘old-stock’ na produktong petrolyo dahil hindi pa saklaw ang mga ito ng TRAIN Law.
Ang mga mahuhuling lumabag sa batas ay maaring patawan ng parusang kanselasyon ng kanilang Certificate of Compliance (COC) at maari ring kasuhan ang mga negosyante ng estafa at profiteering dahil sa paglabag sa Oil Regulation Law, at Revised Penal Code.
Ang mga violators ay i-eendorso rin ng DOE sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) para isailalim sa special audit. (Cyrille)
