DICT, target maglunsad ng 250,000 free Wi-Fi points sa bansa sa 2022
Target ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na maglunsad ng aabot sa 250,000 Wi-Fi access points sa buong bansa sa taong 2022.
Ayon kay DICT officer-in-charge Eliseo Rio, magsasagawa ang kagarawan ng bidding process ngayong buwan ng Enero para sa inisyal na anim hanggang pitong libong libreng Wi-Fi sa bansa.
Kasama aniyang lalagyan ng libreng Wi-Fi access ang mga pampublikong eskuwelahan, munisipyo, mga ospital at maging ang mga state universities and colleges (SUCs).
Samantala, matatandaang ipinatupad ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Republic Act Co. 10929 o mas kilala bilang Free Internet Access in Public Places Act, Agosto ng nakaraang taon.
