Kenneth Dong at Mark Taguba, kinasuhan ng tax evasion
Sinampahan ng Bureau of Internal Revenue sa Department of Justice ng kasong tax evasion ang customs broker na si Mark Taguba at ang negosyanteng si Kenneth Dong.
Kinasuhan ng BIR si Dong dahil sa umanoy hindi pagbabayad ng mahigit labing-isang milyong pisong buwis habang si taguba ay mahigit 850 million pesos ang tax liability.
Ayon kay Internal Revenue Commissioner Caesar Dulay, sinadya nina Dong at Taguba na hindi magbayad ng buwis sa pamamagitan ng hindi paghain ng kanilang income tax returns at quarterly value added tax returns.
Bigo umano si Taguba na irehistro sa BIR ang negosyo nito nagpa-facilitate ng importation goods sa Bureau of Customs bago pa ang ibang negosyo nito.
Habang si Dong naman ay hindi naghain ng ITR, value added tax return o percentage tax returns mula 2003 hanggang 2017.
Matatandaan na tumestigo sina Dong at Taguba sa imbestigasyon ng Kongreso kaugnay ng 6.4 billion pesos na Customs shabu smuggling mula China.
