Pangulong Duterte nagdeklara ng 10-araw na holiday ceasefire sa CPP-NPA
Nagdeklara ng sampung araw na holiday ceasefire si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson harry Roque, ang SOMO o suspension of military operations ay iiral sa December 24, 2017 hanggang sa January 2, 2018.
Sa ilalim ng unilateral ceasefire, inaasahang mababawasan ang mga operasyon ng militar ngayong holiday season.
Sinabi ni Roque na umaasa ang pangulo na magdedeklara din ng ceasefire sa kanilang hanap ang CPP-NPA-NDFP.
Nagpasya ang pangulo na ideklara ang ceasefire dahil ang Pasko ay espesyal sa bawat mamamayan.
“This unilateral ceasefire would lessen the apprehension of the public this Christmas season. We expect that the CPP-NPA-NDFP would do a similar gesture of goodwill. Christmas holds a special place in the hearts of our countrymen. In the observance of this occasion, we hope that all Filipinos would stand together as one nation and aspire for peace in our beloved Philippines,” ayon sa statement na ipinadala ni Roque sa mga mamamahayag.
