2018 national budget at bagong tax reform package pirmado na ni Duterte
Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang P3.8 Trillion na 2018 General Appropriciation Act.
Sinaksihan ng mga opisyal mula sa Senado at Kamara ang nasabing paglagda ng pangulo sa Malacañang.
“2018 budget will fund salary increases for police, military, fund free college tuition, other social programs”, ayon sa pangulo.
Mas mataas ng 12.4 percent ang national budget para sa 2018 kumpara sa kasalukuyang taon.
Malaking bahagi ng pambansang budget ang inilaan para sa imprastraktura, edukasyon at pondo para sa mga lokal na pamahalaan.
Kasunod nito ay nilagdaan na rin ng pangulo ang kontrobersiyal na Republic Act 10963 o ang Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Bill.
Sinabi ni Duterte na inaasahang aabot sa P130 Billion revenues ang kaagad na papasok sa bansa sa pagpapatupad ng bagong tax reform package.
Ayon sa pangulo, “This (TRAIN) is the administration’s biggest Christmas gift to the Filipino people”.
Gagamitin rin ang pondo para sa mga infrastructure projects ng gobyerno sa ilalim ng Build Build Build program ng administrasyon.
