Kasong tax evasion ni Jeane Napoles, ibinasura

Ibinasura ng Court of Tax Appeals Third Division ang P17-million tax evasion case ni Jeane Napoles, ang anak ng umano’y pork barrel scam mastermind na si Janet Lim-Napoles.

Batay sa isang resolusyon na may petsang December 6, ibinasura ang criminal cases numbers O-452 at O-453 ni Napoles dahil sa “insuffiency of evidence” o kakulangan ng ebidensya.

Inaakusahan ni Jeane ng hindi pagbabayad ng income tax mula 2011 hanggang 2012 para sa umano’y pag-aari niya na isang P54.73 million na condominium unit sa Ritz Carlton sa Los Angeles, California, at co-ownership na farm lots sa Pangasinan na nagkakahalaga ng P1.49-million.

Nauna nang iginiit ng nakababatang Napoles na sarado na ang naturang kaso matapos maglabas ang Bureau of Internal Revenue noong November 29, 2016 ng isang preliminary assessment notice kung saan nakasaad ang pagpapataw ng tax sa kanyang ina para sa nasabing luxury condo unit.

Iginiit din ni Jeane na isa lamang siyang estudyante na walang taxable income at iniregalo lamang sa kanya ang condo unit.

Pirmado ni Associate Justice Lovell Bautista ang nasabing resolusyon.
