100,000 pamilya na tatamaan ng PNR South Project, ire-relocate ng pamahalaan

Aabot sa 100,000 pamilya na pawang informal settlers ang tatamaan ng North-South Railway Project (NSRP) ng Philippine National Railway na sisimulan sa susunod na taon.

Ayon kay Department of Transportation (DOTr) Sec. Arthur Tugade, ire-relocate ng pamahalaan ang 100,000 pamilya na maaapektuhan ng proyekto para sa pagpapalawig ng biyahe ng PNR mula Maynila patungong Los Baños, Naga, Legazpi, Sorsogon at Batangas.

Nilagdaan na ng DOTr ang memorandum of agreement kasama ang mga opisyal ng PNR, Presidential Commission on Urban Poor (PCUP), National Housing Authority (NHA), Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) at Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) para sa relocation ng mga maapektuhang pamilya.

Sa ilalim ng nasabing kasunduan, maglalaan ng murang pabahay para sa mga apektadong pamilya.

Ang PNR project ay may habang 653-kilometers at magiging alternatibong transportasyon para sa mga pauwi ng Bicol Region.
