Negros Oriental Gov. Degamo, muling pinasisibak ng Ombudsman
Inutos ng Office of the Ombudsman na muling sibakin sa pwesto si Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, dahil sa umano’y maanomalyang pag-gamit ng 2013 budget ng lalawigan.
Bukod sa dimissal, inutos din ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales na sampahan ng mga kaso si Degamo dahil sa paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
Pinatawan din si Degamo ng parusa na perpetual disqualification from holding public office, kinansela ang eligibility nito, ang forfeiture ng kanyang retirement benefits at bawal na itong kumuha ng Civil Service Examination.
Noong April 2016 ay inutos ng Ombudsman ang pagsibak sa Gobernador at dalawang lokal na opisyal dahil sa grave misconduct kaugnay ng disbursement ng calamity fund noong 2013.
