Philhealth magpapatupad ng dagdag singil para sa premium contribution rate
Inihayag ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na simula sa January 2018 ang lahat ng mga empleyado, employers sa public at private sectors kasama ang mga kasambahay at sea-based OFWs ay papatawan ng dagdag na bayad sa kanilang social health insurance coverage.
Ipinaliwanag ng Philhealth na ngayon lang sila magpapatupad ng dagdag singil sa premium contributions makalipas ang tatlong taon.
Sa kanilang Circular No. 2017-0024, ipinaliwanag ng Philhealth na ang dagdag singil sa contribution rate para sa formal sector ay bahagi ng pagpapatatag sa sustainability ng National Health Insurance Fund ng pamahalaan.
Layunin rin ni to na mabigyan ng mas magandang insurange benefits packages ang mga Philhealth members.
Ang bagong contribution rate ng Philhealth ay magkakaroon lamang ng adjustment na 0.25 percent na ipapataw sa dating 2.75 percent na aplikable sa buwanang basic salary ng isang employed member.
Tatapatan naman ito ng monthly contribution na magmumula sa employer.
Ang dagdag na monthly contribution ay papasanin naman ng mga employer para sa kanilang kasambahay maliban na lamang kung tumatanggap ito ng buwanang sweldo na P5,000 pataas.
Sinabi ni PhilHealth Interim/OIC President and CEO Dr. Celestina Ma. Jude P. De la Serna, na ang dagdag na bayarin sa kontribusyon ay mapapakinabangan rin ng mga miyembro sa pamamagitan ng mga dagdag na benepisyon at bagong mga health packages.
“We need to respond to the needs of our 100 million-strong membership base, especially where providing financial risk protection against emerging, re-emerging, communicable and non-communicable diseases is concerned,” ayon pa kay De la Cerna.
Paliwanag pa ng opisyal, “The adjustment in premium contribution rates will provide us with enough fiscal space to introduce more benefit packages, such as offering the Primary Care Benefit package to all other member-sectors, and to enhance benefit expenses and at end of 2016 alone, the benefit payouts have reached P101 billion”.
