Denuclearization ng Korean Peninsula iginiit ng ASEAN leaders

Naalarma ang mga lider ng 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations sa patuloy na nuclear program ng North Korea.

Sa draft statement ni ASEAN Chairman at Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, isinusulong ng grupo ang denuclearization ng Korean Peninsula.

Ayon pa sa draft statement ng ASEAN leaders, malalagay sa balag ng alanganin ang peace at stability ng rehiyon.

Panawagan pa ng ASEAN leaders, agad na tumalima ang North Korea sa mga isinasaad sa United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Matatandaang noong Agosto lamang, dumalo si North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho sa ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting and Related Meetings para idepensa ang kanilang ginagawang nuclear program at ginagawa lamang umano nila ito bilang paghahanda sa posibleng giyera o pa atake ng U.S.

Ang nasabing deklarasyon ay nakatandang lagdaan ng mga ASEAN leaders sa pagtatapos ng summit na kasalukuyang ginaganap sa ating bansa.
