Dating Pangulong Gloria Arroyo hindi pinayagang makadalo sa ika-40 araw ng kamatayan ng kuya

Hindi pinagbigyan ng Sandiganbayan ang mosyon ni dating Pangulo at ngayon ay Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo na pansamantalang makalabas sa pagkaka-hospital arrest para dumalo sa 40-days ng yumaong kuya na si Arturo Macapagal.

Sa inihaing motion for leave to attend ni Arroyo, hiniling nitong payagan siyang dumalo sa 40th Day Mass, Inurnment Rites at Post-Inurnment prayers para sa kaniyang kuya na gaganapin sa September 19, 2015.

Ayon sa Sandiganbayan, bilang isang detention prisoner, hindi maaring ibigay kay Arroyo ang ‘full enjoyment’ ng kaniyang karapatan, mapa-sibil man o pulitikal.

Una nang iginiit ng prosekusyon na hindi na kailangang magpunta ni Arroyo sa Heritage Memorial Park para dumalo sa mga aktibidad sa ika-40 araw ng kamatayan ng kaniyang kuya dahil maari naman itong mag-alay ng panalangin kahit siya ay nasa VMMC.

“The prosecution orally opposed the said motion contending that there is no need for the accused movant to be allowed to go to the Heritage Memorial Park, as she can recite her prayers for the deceased brother even while she is in the Veterans Memorial Medical Center,” ayon sa Sandiganbayan.

Sinabi pa ng anti-graft court na ang hindi nila pagpayag sa lahat ng inihahaing mosyon ni Arroyo ay hindi naman maituturing na malalabag na ang kaniyang karapatan sa ilalim ng presumption of innocence.
