Nakikidalamhati ang mga senador sa buong sambayanang katoliko sa pagpanaw ni Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal

Ayon kay Sen. Nancy Binay si Cardinal Vidal ang maituturing na pundasyon ng ispiritwal na pamumuhay ng bawat pamilyang Pinoy.

Naniniwala naman si Sen Joel Villanueva na mananatiling inspirasyon habang buhay ng mga Pinoy ang maiiwang legacy ni Cardinal Vidal

Dagdag ni Villanueva, mag-iiwan ng matimbang na epekto sa buhay ng mga Pinoy ang mga magagandang nagawa ni Cardinal Vidal

Kasabay nito, hinikayat ni Villanueva ang mga Pinoy na gayahin ang pagiging compassionate ng Cardinal na nagsilbi ng 29 na taon bilang Archbishop ng Cebu bago tuluyan magretiro noong 2011.
