Customs Deputy Commissioner Gerardo Gambala, nagbitiw na sa pwesto

Nagbitiw na sa pwesto si Customs Deputy Commissioner Gerardo Gambala sa gitna ng kontrobersyal na pagpasok sa bansa ng 6.4 Billion Pesos na halaga ng shabu mula sa China.

Ayon kay Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña, naghain si Gambala ng irrevocable resignation dalawang linggo na ang nakalipas.

Ang dahilan anya ni Gambala sa kanyang resignation ay pagtutuunan nito ng panahon ang kanyang pamilya.

Si Gambala ang pinuno ng management office information and technology office ng BOC.

Isa si Gambala sa pinangalanan ni Senator Panfilo Lacson na mga customs officials na umano’y tumatanggap ng suhol o tara, bagay na ilang beses nitong itinanggi.

Nagsumite na si Lapeña kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng listahan ng mga taong pwedeng pumalik kay Gambala.
