Pwesto ng Pilipinas sa global competitiveness index ng WEF, bahagyang umangat

Umakyat ng isang rank ang Pilipinas sa listahan ng mga maunlad na ekonomiya sa buong mundo.

Ayon sa National Competitiveness Council-Philippines, ngayong taon ay nasa rank 56 na ang Pilipinas mula sa rank 57 noong nakaraang taon.

Pero ayon sa NCC, kung pagbabatayan ang bagong World Economic Forum (WEF) competitiveness report, halos nanatili lang ang ranking ng Philippine economy kung ikukumpara sa nakaraang taon.

Paliwanag ng NCC, napanatili ng bansa ang score na 4.4 sa scale of 7.

Dagdag ng naturang council, para sa mga investors na sinurvey ng WEF, nananatiling hamon sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas ang palpak na bureaucracy ng gobyerno, kulang na mga imprastraktura, kurapsyon, tax regulation at tax rates.

Mataas na grado naman ang nakuha ng bansa sa mga mga usapin ng inflation management (No. 1), government debt as a percentage of GDP (No. 33), country credit rating (No. 48), at government budget balance as a percentage of GDP (No. 24).
