Rejection ng CA kay Mariano, ikinalungkot ng Palasyo
Ikinalungkot ng Malakanyang ang pagbasura ng Commission on Appointments (CA) sa ad interim appointment ni Rafael Mariano bilang Agrarian Secretary.
Sa isang pahayag ay sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella na nalungkot sila sa balita ng rejection ng CA kay Mariano.
Ayon kay Abella, si Mariano, na dating chairman ng Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas, ay naging mahalagang personalidad sa pagsusulong ng mga karapatan ng mga magsasaka.
“Improving the quality of life of our farmers is the commitment of the Duterte administration, and Sec. Mariano has been pivotal in promoting farmers’ rights and welfare and ensuring their security of land tenure,” pahayag ni Abella.
Ni-reject ng CA ang appointment ni Ka Paeng, ang natitirang maka-kaliwang lider sa gabinete ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Si Mariano ay pang-apat ng cabinet member ni Duterte na ni-reject ng commission matapos sina Perfecto Yasay, Gina Lopez at Judy Taguiwalo.
