Marines chief, itinalaga bagong pinuno ng NOLCOM

Naitalaga bilang bagong hepe ng Northern Luzon Command (NolCom) si Philippine Marines Commandant Major Gen. Emmanuel Salamat.

Papalitan ni Salamat si Lt. Gen. Romeo Tanalgo na nakatakda nang magretiro bukas, September 5.

Ayon kay AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Edgard Arevalo, nababagay si Salamat sa pwestong ito dahil sa naging mga karanasan nito sa pamumuno sa loob ng AFP partikular sa Philippine Marines.

Naniniwala naman si AFP Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla, Jr. na ipagpapatuloy ni Salamat ang adbokasiya ng papalitang commander na protektahan ang interest at mga karagatang sakop ng bansa kabilang ang Benham Rise.

Si Salamat ay nagtapos sa Philippine Military Academy taong 1985 at kumuha ng Master’s Degree sa Deakin University sa Geelong, Australia.

Gaganapin ang turnover cemony sa NolCom headquarters sa Camp Aquino sa Tarlac City.
