Alert level sa Bulkang Kanlaon, itinaas ng Phivolcs
Itinaas ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ang alert level 1 sa Bulkang Kanlaon at mula sa “normal status” ay itinaas ang “abnormal status” dahil sa naitatalang seismic activities nito.
Ayon sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD) sa Negros, sa ilalim ng alert level 1 pinapaalalahanan ang local government units at ang publiko na mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang pagpasok sa four-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) ng bulkan.
Kinakailangan ding abisuhan ng Civil aviation authorities ang mga piloto na lumipad sa himpapawid malapit sa tuktok ng bulkan.
Nakapagtala ang Phivolcs ng pagtaas sa seismic activity ng Mt. Kanlaon nitong mga nagdaang araw na maari umanong mauwi sa steam-driven phreatic eruptions.
Simula noong June 24, nakapagtala na ng 244 volcanic earthquakes sa Mt. Kanlaon.
