Bumuo na ng task force ang Department of Justice (DOJ) na tututok sa mga kaso na kinakaharap ng mga terorista kaugnay sa Marawi City siege.
Ang Task Force Marawi ay mayroong 30-member ng panel of prosecutors na silang mag-iimbestiga sa lahat ng kasong rebelyon at iba pang krimen krimen kaugnay sa Marawi attack at sa umiiral na martial law sa Mindanao.
Ayon sa Department Order ni Justice Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre II, ang Task Force Marawi ang mangangasiwa sa hearing o inquest proceedings, preliminary investigation at iba pang proseso sa mga kasong rebelyon at iba pa.
“Provided that, in other common crimes in areas declared under martial law, such as but not limited to, cases of illegal possession of firearms and explosives, the Task Force shall have concurrent jurisdiction with the local prosecution office concerned,” ayon kay Aguirre.
Ang Task Force ay pamumunuan ni Prosecutor General Victor Sepulvida at katuwang niya sina Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Richard Anthony Fadullon at Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Peter L. Ong.
Ang dalawang state prosecutors ay dati nang humawak ng mga handled several high-profile na kaso gaya ng Maguindanao Massacre case (Fadullon) at ang kaso laban kay Senator Leila de Lima (Ong).
Hinati sa dalawa ang task force sa pamumuno nina Fadullon at Ong. Ang dalawang division ng task force ay mayroong tig-tatlong panel na may apat na prosecutor members.
