Code of conduct sa South China Sea, inaasahang mai-endorso ngayong linggo

Inaasahan ng Department of Foreign Affairs ma mai-endorso na sa 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting ngayong linggo ang framework ng Code of Conduct sa South China Sea.

Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Spokesman Robespierre Bolivar, kapag umusad na ang framework, matatalakay na ang actual code of conduct bago matapos ang chairmanship ng Pilipinas sa ASEAN.

Sinabi nya rin na iba ang nilalaman ng framework ng kasalukuyang COC kumpara sa nilagdaan ng ASEAN at China na declaration on the conduct of parties noong 2002.

Una nang sinabi ng DFA na dadaan sa metikulusong proseso ang COC dahil makakapekto rin ito sa konstitusyon at batas ng mga bansang kasali sa ASEAN.

Ang COC ang inasasahang magiging solsuyon at tatapos sa gulo sa pinag-aagawang mga teritoryo sa South China Sea o West Philippine Sea.
