Eksakto alas 4:00 ng hapon, tumunog ang sirena sa mga istasyon ng radyo at telebisyon na hudyat ng pagsisimula ng Metro Manila Earthquake Drill.
Base sa senaryo, kunwari ay tumama ang isang magnitude 7.2 na lindol sa Metro Manila na ang lalim ay 20 kilometers lamang at ang pinakamalakas na naitala ay intensity 8.
Ang Camp Bagong Diwa sa Taguig ang itinalaga bilang emergency operations center.
Habang hinati naman sa apat na quadrant ang Metro Manila para pagdalhan ng mga kunwaring nasugatan.
Ang Veterans Hospital sa Quezon City ang north quadrant, Villamor Airbase sa Pasay City ang south quadrant, LRT Depot sa Santolan, Pasig ang east quadrant at ang Intramuros Golf Course sa Maynila ang west quadrant.
Ang mga sasakyan sa EDSA ay pinahinto habang 45-segundo ring huminto sa pag-andar ang LRT at MRT.
Matapos ang kunwaring pagyanig ng lupa, tumambad na ang naging epekto ng lindol.
Sa LRT line 2 Santolan Station, maraming pasahero ang nasugatan.
Hindi rin sila agad napuntahan ng emergency response team dahil kunwari ay bumagsak ang Marikina bridge kaya nilapatan na lamang muna sila ng first aide sa LRT coach.
Nakilahok sa drill ang iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan, mga eskwelahan sa Metro Manila at maging ang mga mall.
Ayon kay MMDA Chairman Danny Lim, mabilis ang naging sistema ng komunikasyon matapos ang kunwaring pagyanig.
Naging mabilis din ang pagtugon ng mga rescue team sa mga pasyenteng nangailangan ng tulong.
