National Privacy Commission, nagsagawa ng compliance check sa BPI matapos ang aberya

Nasagawa ng compliance check ang National Privacy Commission (NPC) sa Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) matapos ang naranasang problema sa internal system nito noong nakaraang linggo.

Ayon sa pahayag ng NPC, sa ilalim ng compliance check, aaralin ang kasalukuyang sistema at proseso ng bangko.

Sinabi ng NPC na base sa report ng BPI, human error ang dahilan kaya nagkaroon ng mga unauthorized transaction ang kanilang mga kliyente noong nakaraang linggo.

“The BPI incident involved a breach in security affecting the availability and integrity of information that relates to individuals,” ayon sa pahayag ng NPC.

Ayon kay NPC Commissioner Raymund Enriquez Liboro dahil ang insidente ay nakaapekto sa personal information ng mga kliyente, maituturing itong sakop ng Data Privacy Act.

Ayon sa NPC nakipag-ugnayan na sila sa BPI simula pa noong June 7, nang lumabas ang balita hinggil sa problema sa internal system ng bangko.
