Drilon, iginiit na hindi pwedeng umiral ang warrantless arrest sa ilalim ng Martial Law sa Mindanao

Franklin-DrilonHindi umano maaring umiral ang warrantless arrest sa kabila ng pagpapapatupad ng martial law at suspension of the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus sa Mindanao.

Ito ang naging tugon ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon sa naging pahayag naman ni dating SC Justice Vicente Mendoza na nagsabing hindi maaring maakusahan ang pamahalaan ng paglabag sa Bill of Rights ng saligang batas habang umiiral ang martial law.

Paliwanag ni Drilon, na nagsilbi noon bilang dating Justice Secretary, dapat na manaig ang saligang batas at rule of law ang maghahari sa kabila ng batas militar.

Giit ni Drilon, hindi maaring maisantabi ang Bill of Rights kahit na umiiral ang batas militar at suspension of the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus dahil dapat umanong mamayani at respetuhin ang mga ito kahit anong mangyari.
