Ang landing dock ay katulad ng BRP Tarlac (LD601), isang Makassar-Class Landing Platform Dock ng Indonesian Navy na magsisilbing floating command and control ng Philippine Navy lalo na sa pagsasagawa ng Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations at gagamitin bilang military sealift at transport vessel.
Pinondohan ng P3.8 Billion ng pamahalaan ang dalawang landing docks mula sa AFP Modernization Act Trust Fund.
