Voters’ data sa COMELEC website, lilimitahan na

james-jimenezPinaplano na ng Commission on Elections na limitahan ang mga impormasyong maaring makita ng publiko sa precinct finder service ng kanilang website.

Ito ay upang maiwasan nang maulit ang nangyaring “Comeleak” data breach noong 2016 kung saan na-hack ang kanilang website at inilabas ang mga personal na impormasyon ng mga botante.

Ayon kay Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez, ilang impormasyon ang maaring hindi na isama sa database online tulad ng residential address ng botante.

Lilimitahan na rin aniya nila ang mga personal na tanong na masasagot lang ng “yes” or “no,” at malalaman naman nila kung saang distrito sila sa pamamagitan ng pag-input ng kanilang address.

Aniya sa ganitong paraan, hindi na masyadong takaw-mata sa mga hackers ang kanilang sistema at mas mapapaigting pa nila ang kanilang data protection.
