Kauna-unahang museum ng mga polar lands, itinayo sa France

france-mapKasabay ng pagbabago ng Arctic at Antarctic region dahil sa global warming, isang museum ang itinayo para ipakita ang ganda ng polar landscapes at ang mga consequences ng climate change.

Ayon kay Communications Director Anthony Renou, ang naturang museum ay tanging permanenteng museum na nakabase sa Arctic at Antarctic region ng mundo.

Binuo ng anthropologist na si Jean-Christophe Victor, anak ng French polar explorer Paul-Emile Victor at ni Stephane Niveau, isang naturalist ang nasabing museum na may hugis na iceberg kung saan 60 percent nito ay underground.

Makikita sa loob ng mga bibista dito ay ang isang mundo na kulay puti kung saan may mga malalaking video screens na ipinapakita ng mga ice caps habang merong ingay ng isang icy blizzard.

Bukod dito may mga litrato, mga gamit mula sa mga isinagawang polar expeditions at mga video presentations kung saan tampok ang mga ecosystems, rising sea levels, indigenous peoples and iba pa.

Ang temperatura ng Arctic region ay may tumass ng higit na 2 degress Celcius o 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit mula noong 19th century.
