C.A ibinasura ang appointment ni Yasay sa DFA
Sa pamamagitan ng unanimous na 15-0 votes ay tuluyan nang ibinasura ng makapangyarihang Commission on Appointments (CA) ang ad interim appointment ni Foreign Affairs Sec. Perfecto Yasay.
Ito ay makaraang aminin ni Yasan na naging U.S Citizen siya noong 1986 pero ito ay kanya ring binawi.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Yasay sa naunang confirmation hearing ng C.A noong February 22 na hindi siya naging Amerikano kailanman pero ito ay kanyang binawa sa nakaraang pagdinig noong nakalipas na linggo.
Si Sen. Ping Lacson na pininuno ng Foreign Affairs Committee ng C.A ang nag-moved para sa pagbasura ng appointment ni Yasay.
“The Commission has gone over the qualifications and issues besetting the appointee. After careful deliberations of the foregoing circumstances, and upon a unanimous vote of 15 of its members present in a caucus held this morning, this representation as chair of the foreign affairs, hereby, moves to reject the ad interim appointment of Atty. Perfecto Rivas Yasay Jr. as Secretary of Foreign Affairs. I so move,” ayon kay Lacson.
Bago ang desisyon ay nagkaroon pa ng ilang minutong executive session ang committee na sinundan naman ng paglabas sa Senado ni Yasay.
